ICD-10 Program Update
The ICD-10 mandate was implemented on October 1, 2015. The transition to ICD-10 impacted every system, process, and transaction that contains or uses a diagnosis or inpatient procedure code. This includes all lines of business and many supporting technologies across the BlueShield of Northeastern New York environment.
The code conversion tables below includes a list of common diagnoses reported by BSNENY providers and the most likely corresponding ICD-10 codes.
DISCLAIMER -- The information in our code conversion table is based on the General Equivalency Mapping ("GEM") files published by CMS. While many codes in ICD-9-CM map directly to codes in ICD-10, in some cases, a clinical analysis will be required to determine which code or codes should be selected. In addition, there will be many situations in which you will need to map the ICD-9 code to the most appropriate ICD-10 code. Please be advised that we make no endorsement, representation or warranty as to the accuracy, reliability or usefulness of the code conversion table; use of this table is at your own risk.
