Fitness at the Plaza

Warm up this winter with Fitness at The Plaza! Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern New York is excited to kick off our sixth season of Winter Fitness at The Plaza on Tuesday, January 3. 

Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday through March 30 in the Empire State Plaza Convention Center, featuring fun and heart-pumping workouts guaranteed to make you sweat. Participants of all fitness levels are encouraged to join!

Pre-registration is encouraged to receive notifications on class updates or cancellations.

Pilates with The Hot Yoga Spot 

  • Dates: Tuesday’s, January 3 – March 30
  • Time: 5-6pm
  • Location: Cornerstone at the Plaza 
  • Class Description: 
    • Refresh, restore, and rejuvenate with a Pilates session that is suitable for all levels of experience. This class offers students an opportunity to strengthen the body and improve flexibility with an emphasis on core strength. We will go step by step through the individual exercises to learn proper execution, alignment and modifications to suite specific physical needs and coordinate breath to each movement. This series of classes is great for anyone new to Pilates or who wants to brush up on their skills.

Zumba with Anzala

  • Dates: Thursday’s, January 3 – March 30
  • Time: 5-6pm
  • Location: Cornerstone at the Plaza 
  • Class Description:
    •  Zumba combines cardio, muscle conditioning, and a mix of low- and high-intensity dance moves that offer a fun fitness program. Described as “exercise in disguise,” Zumba provides a total body workout while dancing to Latin and international rhythms. Participants will enjoy a calorie-burning workout led by Anzala, who is full of energy and transforms the class into a dance party. All fitness levels are welcome, and no experience is necessary.

Time: 5-6pm
Location: Plaza level, between Agency Buildings 2 & 3

Summer Flow Yoga with The Hot Yoga Spot
 

Dates: Thursdays, June 2 – August 25
Time: 5-6pm
Location: Plaza level, between Agency Buildings 2 & 3
Class Description: This flowing yoga class is perfect for people of all levels and experience. Students will grow stronger and more flexible and balanced each week with an instructor who will always offer modifications to make the sessions perfect for everyone.

 

Classes will not be held the week of July 4.
