Jeffrey Martin

Jeffrey Martin joined Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern New York in 2009 and is the company’s vice president, underwriting.

He is responsible for profitability analysis, pricing, and negotiation of large group underwriting. He also helps develop pricing tools, underwriting policies, and new group acquisition plans.

Martin previously served as director, underwriting where he was responsible for managing the commercial underwriting.

Prior to joining Blue Shield, he served as director of underwriting for WellPoint, where he was responsible for profitability analysis, pricing, and negotiation of large group underwriting for 450,000 members and a staff of 17 employees.

Martin earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado, Boulder’s Leeds School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado. He serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of Western New York.
