Gerry Klopfer, ASA, MAAA
Vice President, Chief Actuary
Gerry Klopfer joined Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern New York in 1996 and is the company’s vice president, chief actuary.
Klopfer is responsible for all actuarial functions including: corporate rating structures and premium development, claims reserve and related financial estimation, provider and vendor network analytics, trend forecasting and analysis, and alternative reimbursement strategy support.
In Klopfer’s 25 year tenure with Blue Shield, he has served in increasing roles and responsibilities in actuarial services.
Klopfer earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and is an associate of the Society of Actuaries.
