Education programs range from four to 12 sessions. A variety of programs are available for water and exercise classes. Typical sessions include information on:
  • Medication for arthritis
  • Impact of your diet
  • How to reduce pain and increase range of motion
  • Movements to increase strength and maintain muscle mass
  • Simple exercises with household items such as a chair
  • Exercises performed in a pool

Self Care Tips

Discuss, with your physician, medications and exercises that will help minimize the pain you experience as a result of your arthritis.

Maintain your physical activity level as high as possible. Discuss with your physician an active lifestyle and exercise plan. Attend one of the health education classes to learn about the correct way to exercise and reduce the limitations of your arthritis.
