Holistic Health
Holistic health encompasses the physical, emotional and spiritual components of wellness. Holism refers to the whole person; internal wellbeing as well as physical aspects. Holistic health focuses on alternative medicine which prepares the body to care for itself. BlueCross BlueShield Holistic Health programming educates an individual in the different aspects of holistic medicine. Such programs include:
- Educational/Informational classes on holistic health- what it is and where to start
- Meditation
- Yoga
Classes run approximately 8 weeks long and meet once per week.
Self Care Tips:
Consider the mind, body and spirit as one entity that equal your health and wellbeing. Strive for balance in your physical and emotional self and communicate with your healthcare provider. Take an active role in your health care plans and do not leave the responsibility solely to your physician. Seek a health care provider that has similar beliefs in holism.
